IN OPERATIONAL BASE STATION

Accompanied by Deputy Head dealing with staff Lt. Colonel A.Toumanyan and battalion commander S.Titanyan (of the regiment headed by Colonel A.Ohanyan) we go to the operational base stations.

Just the first station impressed us. The shelter was firm, clean, clear and equipped according to the modern requests. There were sleeping dining rooms, kitchen, armoury and other conveniences which are necessary for full-fledged service. A big consideration is given for keeping soldiers’ food. For that special stainless fridges are given. Water is kept in a special stainless barrel and the soldiers say that water is cool there even in hot days. In the shelter there were also corners for reading, entertainment, summer eating place, sports stock.

On the initiative of the soldiers small chapels are constructed, and as Lt.Colonel A.Toumanyan mentioned, soldiers are very well aware of church festivals. King Ashot Yerkat’s cross made a circle through operational base stations headed by RA AF spiritual head Vrtanes Archbishop Abrahamyan.
