Interview with RA Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan

-Mr.Minister, which problem resolves Azerbaijan destabilizing the ceasefire regime?

-Its aim is to impede the negotiation process on Nagorno-Karabakh problem settlement, and creating tension to draw Armenia in an armed clash, and then to spread false information and cast the blame on the Armenian side. Azerbaijan has nothing to gain from the problem’s settlement, official Baku always avoids from the acquired agreements, resorts to various tricks and hinders the natural process of developments. One of those tricks is clash provoking on the border.

-Was it possible to avoid the losses?

-Each loss, the life of each soldier is very valuable for us however no one can guarantee soldier’s security during the enemy’s attack. On the front line borders defense is realised completely.

-What can you say about the international guarantee of the country’s foreign security. Did the military-political diplomacy use all the possible resources?

-No doubt in Azeri aggression face-off Armenia’s foreign policy is of great importance. All the international military-political alliances and the signed documents are aimed at ensuring of our country’s foreign security. First of all I should mention the effective cooperation with security systems – OSCE, NATO, etc. Bilateral contacts are also active, particularly the agreement on military cooperation with the Russian Federation can fully guarantee the security of the Republic of Armenia during big regional clashes.
