SMALL SOLDIER ON THE PHOTO

Glancing through “Hay Zinvor” newspaper’s first issues, I paid attention to a photo – a soldier holding a small boy in a military uniform. The photo was shot in the days of formation of our army.

– The photo has 18-year remoteness. There was a patriotic function in Nairi region, – recalls war participant, teacher, Lt. Colonel Gegham Lalayan. – My friend Andranik took in his arms my son wearing military uniform, and the photographer’s alert eye immortalized that moment. And now I am so proud that my son is a soldier of the Armenian army and serves with dignity.

When I saw Garegin in a military uniform, I got so excited! Various emotions poured: I was happy, sad, proud, excited at the same time. I am an old soldier, a warrior who has seen pain and sufferings of war, and now with an open forehead I can say that I have done everything for my son to become a soldier of the Homeland!
