AAD REGIMENT IS 20

During the Artsakh war when the Azeri fire points in Karvachar were suppressed and the territory of important strategic significance was taken under control, in other fronts the enemy went into the counterattack and the second time bombarded Kapan (the first bombing was in December, 1992).

In June, 1993 creation of region’s air borders’ security support system started. The first radiolocation and zenith-rocket systems were located, combat divisions were formed one after another. In a short period of time open air space became a fortress with multilayered defense. In the creation and development of the regiment colonels Avdalyan, Gevorgyan, Vardanyan had their important contribution, and now it is under the command of Colonel T.Aslikyan.

– First of all I have to mention that the Defense Ministry pays big attention to our regiment, – tells the Commander. – Serious means and efforts have been introduced, excellent living conditions created, zenith-rocket C-300 complexes put on a combat duty. We must defend all these. Combat duty is conducted permanently – every day, day and night. Combat accounts are always in place, we follow the air situation of all the region, accompany all the transiting planes.
