“IF YOU DID NOT GUARD SILENCE OF HOMELAND’S BORDER…”

We are in the peace-keeping brigade under the command of Major General Arthur Simonyan. Among the servicemen he mentioned Avag Kurdiyan who has been serving in the infantry battalion since 2011, in 2013 with the army grouping he was in Afghanistan ensuring security of Kunduz airport.

– The peacekeeper should control himself and be patient, – says Avag, – These qualities bring to self-confidence, without it is not possible to serve. I completed some courses and got a chance to serve for 7 months in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. We were supposed to defend the airport from Talibs. As each serviceman the peacekeeper should trust his forces, throw doubt and act without delay. It is very important for us to participate in multinational operations. Besides preventing military actions we strengthen the image of our state in the international security system, get acquainted with tactics and military innovations of the Western countries. Now I prepare for the next mission.
