“BASIC MILITARY TRAINING”: OBJECTIVES, EXPECTATIONS, REALITY

From year to year in Armenia more emphasis on military-patriotic education is made. Various functions are being organized during which the young generation get acquainted with the history of their state, heroic past, culture, with spirit and advice of persons who devoted their lives and activities to the Homeland.

BMT subject resolves the most important all-state task: prepares teenagers to military service, as well as promotes education of physically and mentally healthy, versatile development of boys.

Many years majority of military instructors were appointed from officers of retirement age. But in recent years the situation has changed dramatically: now the officers, transferred from regiments, are being appointed to schools. However there is a problem here. The thing is that to be a military instructor, besides military knowledge, one should have also appropriate pedagogical skills. In this case, many specialists have rightly noted the need to increase the role of the military recruitment offices.
