SIGNAL CORPS ARE 22!

After the independence of Armenia and the establishment of the army the types of troops of armed forces began to form, among them – the Signal Corps. In the difficult days of the Artsakh war Signal Department was created.

In 1992 when the course of military operations in the north of Artsakh dictated the need for major structural changes in the Self-Defense Forces, which implies changes also in the organization of communication, our signalers honorably fulfilled their tasks.

The first major system of wire communication, which was built in Artsakh by military signalers, was the communication link Stepanakert-Martakert. In 1992. Signal Corps were equipped with experts from research institutes, many of them were appointed in the regiments as responsible for communication.

In his congratulatory speech Signal Department’s head Major General Komitas Mouradyan said: “In the name of victory and the establishment of the Armed Forces and Army Signal Corps multiple signalers put their lives.

Today, all the difficulties are left behind, and signal troops have been already formed. Year after year command and control system of the troops improved, big investments are made, we purchased new equipment and communication devices. But this does not mean that we have no work to do”.
