COMMANDER

Senior Lieutenant Andranik Kocharyan is 23, he is the peer of independence. He is in service only 2 years but he has entrusted the duties of the company commander in one of the southern military units of the NKR Army of Defense. He has already managed to get medals “For military duty” and “For Valour”, out of turn was promoted to Senior Lieutenant. Strongholds under his command carry out combat duty at a distance of a few tens of meters from the enemy positions.

In the night from 27 to 28 May, when the enemy’s commando team attempted invasion, 10 soldiers led by Senior Lieutenant Kocharian neutralized the enemy.

– I just drew the correct conclusion from the mine explosion. The whole night I didn’t sleep, I was waiting. At night, at 2:10am I made an observation. The dogs were restless, but I did not notice anything suspicious and went back into the sleeping place. After 20 minute a grenade got there. We acted in combat calculation, organized a perimeter defense… These were special forces of the enemy, although there was an impression that they were recruits. They were powerless over our 18-year-old soldier. Defeated, they ran home.
