– From the point of view of protection of human rights in the armed forces there is number of problems, which are caused by the specifics of military service. It is primarily on the legal regulation between servicemen. On the other hand it is necessary to ascertain the low level of legal awareness among the military and the lack of legal knowledge. A desire to restore this level will make the military more secure.

With regard to the rights of the officers, here there are problems of social security. For example, to provide the military with apartments. And for conscripts the most important issue is statutory relations. Violence, abuse, violation of honor and dignity – these phenomena should be eliminated or at least minimized.

A positive example is the practice of the organization to choose their military service through the drawing of lots. Such mechanisms should also be developed at all levels and at all stages of military service for the solution of various problems. The proper organization and consistent implementation of the process of legal training of servicemen, including command staff, is also important.
