Interview with Military Police Head, Colonel Samvel Ghukasyan

– Reports over the past year indicate that in the army crime decreased dramatically: the number of suicides – for 78%, mutilation – 19%, assault – 18%, but there is an increase of fatalities.

– Yes, that is due to an unprecedented aggressive behavior of the enemy. In comparison with 2013, the number of reported cases of the enemy increased by 16, reaching from 6 to 22. I’ll note that in the central office of the Military Police five working groups have formed that regularly visit military units to check on-site the service of military police and the effectiveness of cooperation with commanders of military units.

– Mr.Ghukasyan, in recent years in some military units soldier who received a rebuke or make some sort of misconduct, is deprived of the right to rise to positions and protect the border. This will not result in the opposite effect?

– No. Firstly, we again emphasize that it is the greatest honor when we trust the soldier a position.
