THE STRENGTH AND WEAKNESS OF THE TANK COMPANY COMMANDER

Interview with tank company commander Captain Mihran Voskanyan

Recently captain Voskanyan was awarded the medal “Vazgen Sargsyan”. Acting under his command tank company during final exams of 2014, they registered high rates of fire training and driving.

His colleagues said about him that “his strength and weakness is the tank.”
“And why the tank?” – I asked Mihran. He sincerely replied, “Because tank emphasizes my importance”.

– When as a child I saw tanks, passing through our village, I felt that my life will be associated with this powerful fighting machine. I studied at the Military-Sports Lyceum after Monteh Melkonian, then in the Tank Institute in the Russian Federation

– And how did you feel when you first got into the tank?

– Anxiety. Questions swirled in my head – how can I lead this huge machinery, how can I find common language with it? And today it is easier for me to drive a tank than a car. Booth tank is the area of professional search, my freedom, my aspirations, my determination… After the Institute I began to serve as a company commander. My commander Edward Galoyan helped me a lot. There are many nuances that are not taught in the institute, and he explained them all. For 8 years I am an officer and I’ve never met a soldier who would be indifferent to his machine. And this love I impart in their soul. Tank is a symbol of strength. I realized that I have to strengthen and develop the love of a soldier to the tank. I never blame the soldier when he is in the booth. We analyze the mistakes later. I think that the pressure creates an aversion to the commander, and technology, and service, and it is the most dangerous thing. Unfortunately, when a soldier becomes an ideal tanker, the time comes to his demobilization.
