LAST SHOT MUST ALWAYS BE OURS
Interview with commander of the military unit, Lieutenant Colonel Soghomon Khachatryan
– In the rear part of our military unit there are seven border villages: Voskepar, Baghanis, Voskevan, Qoti, Barekamavan, Dovegh and Berdavan. Here, every day, the shots of the enemy are heard, but the 24th and 25th September were special. On 24th they were firing with small arms, and on 25th – artillery.
In my opinion, the use of heavy weapons means – “let’s fight.” The enemy constantly changes the strategy trying to find at least some way to harm. And can’t find. However, I do not want to underestimate the enemy, did not want to say that they are weak. It’s just we are strong! After the destruction of enemy’s firing points the military unit’s tasks have changed. It is clear that it will begin to locate new ones. Therefore, we have strengthened artillery, reconnaissance and observation. At the moment, our main goal is to control the movement of the enemy, the more that Berdavan people harvest grapes. We have an order – to destroy those weapon emplacements from where they try to shoot towards the peasants.
We should consider everything, we have no right not to pay attention to any detail, yet it is not the situation that we can sit quietly. The enemy is punished, but we expect it’ll take new steps. Today is also an important time and the responsibility rests on our shoulders. We are ready. We have gained combat experience. Our soldiers only need to give the right direction, it is necessary to inspire, to be with him, and he will become a hero. The last shot must always be ours!
