SEPTEMBER 25: THE WATERSHED OF MY LIFE

– 25 September – this is the day that turned me into a different reality, this is the day when I really felt that I am a military… – tells chief of northeastern artillery military unit, Lieutenant Colonel Armen Sargsyan. – On this day, the enemy used grenade launchers of 60 and 82mm caliber. We received orders to return fire to suppress the firing points. That was my first combat action. In 2-3 hours we shot 60 mines. If from the enemy’s 10 shots 2 were aimed, in our case it was 7 of 10.

After conducting an inefficient fire with small-caliber mortars, the enemy powered jet missile and artillery station. Our 120mm mortar battery made 2 shots and silenced the weapon. That day I realized – our excellence is our military who shoot straight.

On September 25, I realized what does mean devotion. For many contractors that day was a holiday, but as soon as they received the alarm, they all gathered as one. No one was late, although I’m sure they all had some work. That’s where our strength is!

On this day, I have also witnessed the “power” of the enemy: their soldiers, leaving the position, fled back home…
