FACTS ARE NOT SILENT

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide the National Archives of Armenia has published three volumes of “The Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey. testimonies of survivors» in Armenian, Turkish and Russian languages, creation of an electronic database of victims of the Armenian Genocide is under process. The continuation of this will be the publication of legal documents on the Catholicosate of Sis, church possessions of Western Armenia.

Interview with the Director of the National Archive of Armenia, Doctor of Historical Sciences Amatouni Virabyan.

– The documents are mainly written in Osman language. In this issue, Syrian Armenian Mihran Minassian is helping us, who knows the Osman language very well. So far, we publish photocopies of these documents in Osman and Persian languages with the Armenian translation.

The Turkish side always says that in the archives of Armenia there are no documents that would prove the fact of the Armenian Genocide. However, in our publications there are numerous documents that not only describe the massacre, but identify the planned genocide of the Turkish authorities. And our archive documents prove not only the physical extermination of the Armenian population, but also the cultural genocide.
