CENTRAL ARCHIVE OF THE DEFENSE MINISTRY: THE BASE OF THE SOLDIERS’ FATE

Central Archive of the RA Defense Ministry plays an important role in addressing social and legal problems of servicemen and soldiers-participants of the war. Currently, large-scale work is also underway towards obtaining documents from the troops, and the use of archival documents.

– We cooperate with the departments of RA MoD on staff and military education, social protection of servicemen, with the Republican Military Commissariat and in general with all the regional military commissariats, – said head of the Central Archives of the MoD, 1st Class Counselor of special civil service Emilia Ananyan. – On participants in the war, people can get information about their trips to the combat fighting, which is very important for the preparation of the military path of a person (according to the new decision of the government, the certificate of war participant is going to be changed, for which it is required to provide the relevant certificates from the archives). Since 2007 in the MoD Central archive work on digitizing of archive materials began. Already all the archival documents up to 1997-1998 are digitized, which made it possible to quickly organize the provision of documents.

Recently, we had guests from the Central Archive of the Russian Federation, areas of cooperation were outlined. And now by e-mail more quickly will be realized the process of clarification and exchange of data. Archive materials are also a documentary basis for scientific papers. University students, researchers often get permission to use archival database of the Defense Ministry in their research.
