On April 26 in the conference hall of the administrative complex of the RA MoD a scientific-practical conference was held on the subject of “Destructive cults and street perverse moral as a threat for defenses”. Heads of interested agencies, representatives of RA National Assembly’s permanent commissions, scientific-education sphere and NGO-s, Armenian Apostolic Church were present. Aim of the conference was: to make big efforts to preserve national identification of the young generation, eliminate causes which bring to crime among teenagers.

Once a month honored researchers and university teachers of the republic visit army regiments and give public lectures to servicemen. Among them there are historians, art specialists etc. Lectures are dedicated to the Armenian national-freedom movement, Armenian statehood, Armenian military art, Genocide history, diplomatic relations and Armenian culture.

Armenian community of Lebanon is one of the most traditional, most organized Armenian communities. Many centuries Armenians lived on the territory of Lebanon, however big wave of Armenians settled here during the First World War, when thousands of Armenians, fleeing from the Turkish massacre, found refuge in this Arab state.

In the Ministry of Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan received the women who showed themselves during the service as well as mothers having more than 10 children. In the end of the function the Minister made a surprise for those mothers – he invited their sons-soldiers and gave a 10-day vacation as a prize.

I lived with a clear conscience and faith, always looked at my country with a clear view. Thank God, we have an independent state. To get results we need unity, united will. We must cherish our national values, our culture that tomorrow of our children be more light and clear. As writer Mouratsan said, “State’s basis is the family!” Our tomorrow’s defenders, soldiers of the army grow in families. We must cherish our army as our children. We, who participated in military actions, are ready today also, if necessary, to participate in the holy task of Homeland’s defense.

Siblings Arthur and Karen Grigoryans serve in different regiments. 9 months haven’t seen each other. Recently they have met. On the occasion of the women’s month Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan made a surprise to their mother – Mrs.Gayaneh, giving a promotional holiday to her sons. I also decided to go and participate in their joy.

I’ll be frank, there was no thought in my mind to raise a hero, even I didn’t think about patriotism. Only I wanted my son to become a dignified, kind, responsible person, to defend the week, help the needy, be honest, have his own opinion.
My son was an ordinary boy as his coevals. My Armen was loved both at schoоl and neighborhood. He had many friends, a lot. He took responsibility, made decisions, united friends…
