On November 9 a function was organized on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the RA MoD Yerevan Officers’ House. Welcome speech was made by Head of the Officers’ House Gourgen Khachatryan. Letters of commendation were presented to the House’s staff by the RA MoD Information & PR Department. “Zorakan” ensemble’s creative director Aram Galstyan was awarded with a departmental medal.

Already it is so many years all our nation celebrate the Day of Sardarapat heroic battle. I consider this day as one of the most important national and state holidays, – says Rafael Mesropyan, military teacher of “Mkhitar Sebastatsy” educational complex, former liberation-warrior.
When we were studying the history of Sardarapat battle, we decided to go and respect the memory of perished heroes who put the basis of our independence in the early 20th century.

When Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan visited the eastern regiment, he met also with the people and authorities of the community. Being the community head, I raised a few issues.
Our village Vahan is a bordering frontier village and has a heroic biography. It resisted heroically during the Artsakh war. However now our main task is to leave our youth in the village, don’t hamper our eastern borders of young and strong hands.

In the city of Vardenis (Gegharkunik marz) a solemn ceremony was conducted dedicated to the 22-nd anniversary of independent Armenia. The function was organized on the initiative and with support of Vardenis Mayor’s office (Mayor – Volodya Khloyan), Karabakh Veterans’ Union (Chairman – Youriy Miqayelyan) and “Youth Will” NGO (Chairwoman – Anahit Grigoryan). In the beginning the participants visited Artsakh victims’ memorial and paid tribute to perished soldiers who gave their lives for freedom.

On the eve of Independence Day a solemn function was held in the regiment headed by Colonel Artak Tonoyan. 21 years ago from this place (where at that time landing-assault regiment was situated) soldiers went to war and participated in defensive and liberation actions of Berdzor. There were 17 losses, there are stories about their heroic deeds.

At the administrative complex of RA MoD the meeting of Public Council at the Defense Minister was held which was conducted by Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan. Minister’s deputies, high-ranking officers, heads of departments took part in it.
During the meeting the results of Public Council’s as well as Citizens appeals and complaints commission’s (created on the order of the Defense Minister) annual activities were finalized.

On September 11, the regular session of departmental working group set up by the order of the Minister of Defence, to deal with the issues raised by freedom fighters, was held at the administrative building of the Ministry of Defence. Representatives of the Freedom Fighters Council were also present at the session.
