It is 90th anniversary of Gevorg Vardanyan, the legend of Soviet and world intelligence service, prominent son of the Armenian nation
On February 17 legendary Soviet SSA Gevorg Vardanyan would have been 90. He is the only SSA of the USSR who got the Golden Star of the Soviet Union’s Hero not during war-time, and during his life-time.

Artsakh war has its “regiment’s sons” who forgetting about childhood breathed powder. The most important lesson of life they got during the war – that is the right war for justice.
Yermak (Andranik Mnatsakanyan) is one of those boys, he was the son of the Shoushi special battalion. He still misses Peto (Petros Ghevondyan), Hrach Gasparyan. He is already 30 but anyway remembers his childhood. He served in the Armenian army, and all the commanders were surprised how he knew to tackle all weapons. After service 8 years he lived and worked in Fizuli, where Shoushi’s antitank group’s commander Hrach Gasparyan perished.

November 3 marks the 70th birthday anniversary of Colonel Valeri Marutyan – the founder of medical services and field surgery of Artsakh, a doctor and a freedom fighter during the war. On November 2 a memorial ceremony was held in the administrative building of the ARM MoD, dedicated to Valeri Marutyan’s heroic life.

I live with army, my day starts and ends with the army. I continue wearing military uniform, continue to serve my country… I live with my family. My son is a serviceman, my grandson Ishkhan (I named him on the honour of my brother who perished during the 2nd World War) will continue shift. I.e. I (my blood) would be with the army for a long time. I feel very well when I see activity in young servicemen. I become happy when I see that the guarantees of tomorrow’s powerful army forge today, in front of my eyes.

I came to my Homeland. Came and said – I want to serve in Armenia. It was really a difficult and hard period. There was no army, everything was created from zero. I am a serviceman loving discipline, and here… bearded fellows around with different characters, mentality, education. However we all were united with one aim – to eliminate the enemy.

Press-secretary of the minister – it is first of all minister’s image-maker. He must follow the minister as his shadow and remain in the shadow. I tried to give the media many-sided, correct and objective information possibly. I am against concealment of accidents since the society, we want it or not, very quickly come to know about murders and violence in the troops. And if we conceal or the official media don’t talk about them, the feeling of fear sharpens and it creates rich soil for any kinds of rumors.

On December 10th in the RA MoD museum “Mayr Hayastan” (Mother Armenia) a function was held dedicated to the 21-st anniversary of death of liberation soldier Hamlet Minasyan. On the function dignitaries were present: Artsakh Hero Major Ggeneral A.Ter-Tadevosyan (Komandos), former Head of Intelligence Department Colonel I.Ghukasov, “Goyamart” NGO Chairman S.Ghazaryan, “Small Mher” Educational Complex Head Colonel A.Mouradyan, Colonel R.Bakhshyan.
