On January 28th in the Officers’ House of Greece, Athens a reception was held on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of RA AF formation. 300 guests were present, among them Head of Greece National Army of Defense General Staff General Michael Kostaracos and other high-ranking servicemen.
During the function some Greece officers were rewarded with RA AF jubilee medals who have their own share in Armenian-Greek military cooperation.
As for signing of the agreement between Armenia and Russia on military-technical cooperation Minister Ohanyan said: “There is an intergovernmental agreement on military-technical cooperation. Deepening of the cooperation allowed the heads of both states to bring it to interstate level. Now discussions on interstate agreement are in the final stage… There are already agreements on creation of joint organizations in the coming years, on the territory of Armenia as well, which would give the possibility to develop our military industry”.
The main task of 2012 was the final program on formation of National Defense University. This process started yet in 2003-04 when Institute Head Major General Hayk Kotanjyan was on an internship in USA National Defense University. Our Defense University would have two parts – research and educational. The main part of the research part would be our Institute’s analytical centre. Two more centres would be formed – strategic educational centre and national centre of cyber-security.

The delegation headed by Seyran Ohnayan, Defense Minister was on a two-day working visit in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
On November 26, Seyran Ohanyan met with the leadership of ISAF at its headquarters in Kabul. British Lieutenant-General Nick Carter, Deputy Commander of ISAF highly appreciated Armenia’s contribution to the establishment of security and stability in Afghanistan, expressing his gratitude to Armenian peacekeepers for their professionalism and commitment to mission goals.
The book’s authors are scholars, S.Lornejad from USA and A.Doostzadeh from Canada. In this monography they analyze how incorrectly the Azeris comment on the literary heritage of prominent Medieval Persian poet Nizami Gyanjavi. This started in 1930-s in the Soviet Union after the functions dedicated to the 800-th anniversary of Nizami. They even “found” and published so called “Nizami Gyanjavi’s Turkish Collection”. Falsifiers doctored of poems in Turkish language to the Persian poet whereas in his rich literary heritage even with a loupe you can’t find a single line in Turkish or other dialect.
On October 10 four scholars from Hungary – historian, political analyst Zoltan Biro, Theological College Rector, pastor Gabor Ivanyi, professor, journalist and publisher Gabor Deak and writer Rudolf Ungvari visited Yerablur Pantheon to honor the memory of officer Gourgen Margaryan and to apologize to the Armenian nation in the name of Hungarian people for the shameful actions of the Hungarian Government.
