In the early 1990s, during the liberation war, many civil hospitals in Artsakh and Armenia turned into hospitals. In Yerevan Children’s Hospital on the Muratsan street a special section was allocated for receiving and treating the wounded during the fighting operations. Subsequently, this hospital became a military medical institution number one in our country – Central Military Hospital of the RA Defense Ministry.

This is Zem (from the word “zemlyak”). He is on intelligence service, special forces captain, has a medal “For courage”. The man, who many times penetrated behind enemy lines, performs the most responsible tasks of command, a man who is always on the verge of life and death. This is the service of the scout. The most important thing is to be informed that in the newly minted team is only possible by working 24 hours and implementing vigilant monitoring. The military leader must know what is happening in every corner of the structure headed by him. If there is a conflict between the military, the commander must understand it, listen to all sides, punish those responsible. In every man there is something good. It is necessary to help a person to become good. Our Minister has a very good saying: rather than to educate the other, educate yourself, and all the others will be educated by your example. It may not sound pompous, but I am the center, the core of the military unit. The face of the military is my face!

This call-up is already the 45th in the life of our state. Year by year, the requirements of the call-up become more clear and stringent. During this call-up, we’ll consider the health issues very strictly to permanently exclude cases of recruitment of boys with health problems. As is said, this issue will be under a magnifying glass. In the regional military enlistment offices a great attention will be paid to the work with relatives of recruits, everyone will be informed of the law “On Military Duty”.

25 September – this is the day that turned me into a different reality, this is the day when I really felt that I am a military… – tells chief of northeastern artillery military unit, Lieutenant Colonel Armen Sargsyan. – On this day, the enemy used grenade launchers of 60 and 82mm caliber. We received orders to return fire to suppress the firing points. That was my first combat action. In 2-3 hours we shot 60 mines. If from the enemy’s 10 shots 2 were aimed, in our case it was 7 of 10.

After the end of the relevant courses of the Military Aviation Institute after Marshal Armenak Khanperyants, I and my classmate Dzyunik Aveyan enlisted in the air-defense forces.
The most important one was the first day, and it began wonderfully, the command staff received us warmly. At that moment, I was the happiest person in the world. Our arrival at the military unit coincided with the trainings, and, as they say, without foreplay we entered the military life. We were all equal, but representatives of the “weaker sex” were always under scrutiny of the officers. With their guidance and advice commander of the military unit, Colonel M.Sahakyan, his deputy, Lt. Colonel G.Nazaretyan, Colonels G.Zeynalyan, Kh.Torosyan helped us a lot.

At the Height the things are different. At the Height you talk with Eternity, and everyday worries seem so small! I like to climb to the positions with my soldiers. There is nothing better than a midnight conversation of commander and soldier on the Height, from where the boundary of the Homeland starts – ahead is the enemy, in the back – the breath of the country.
