FRONT LINE

Servicemen of the regiment under the command of Lt. Colonel S.Ghukasyan are very serious about their service. They are deeply aware that they are required not to relax, be careful and not to exclude the possibility of sabotage.
In recent days, due to engineering works in the strongholds the number of soldiers increased. Soldiers of engineering sapper company, after performing their daily tasks, are also involved in the alert.

MY SON CALLS FROM HIS REGIMENT

Today in the bus one woman’s mobile rang. Excitedly she asked the passengers not to make noise: «This is my son, calls from the regiment, 10 days I haven’t talked to him… Please, don’t make noise», – and everybody kept quiet.
«Hello, my son. How are you? How did duty go? You are not hungry?… Yes, just like that, behave like a man. Military service is a man’s job… Listen to the officers, don’t argue with them, Treat them as senior fellow … Your whole life we with your father protected you, and now is your turn to protect us. My son, be careful… You must know, we are waiting for you… Ok, bye, go to sleep… Kisses».

VOLUNTARILY – ON THE FRONTLINE!

On July 23 graduates of the Military Institute after Vazgen Sargsyan on the principle of the draw had to choose their place of service (regiment). Before the draw 1st Deputy of Defense Minister D.Tonoyan asked – are there those who are willing to serve on the front line voluntarily? Dozens of graduates stood up and without hesitation chose the military units which implement combat duty and are away from the capital for several hundred kilometers. Their choice was awarded with a storm of applause.

ARMY IMPLEMENTS ITS TASK

On July 17th during the RA Government’s meeting Prime-Minister Hovick Abrahamyan suggested Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan to report about the developments on the territory of Karvachar in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Minister particularly said that after signing the ceasefire agreement in 1994, because of the Azerbaijani Republic’s conducted policy periodically there was tension on the front line, on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic because of snipers’ shootings, subversive intelligence actions.

WE’LL WIN WITH MINIMAL LOSSES

We never deceived our people and said that the war could start at any moment. We have implemented measures to ensure the security and livelihoods of the civilian population. Government agencies are also prepared, they have developed a special program of action.

FRUITS OF PREVENTIVE WORK

In the regiments which are under our service, in 2013, compared to 2012, cases of all types of offenses decreased by 26%. In particular, AWOL cases decreased by 45%, cases containing the criminal element – 3%. Serious crimes were not there. During the reporting period previously undisclosed (hidden) 21 cases have been disclosed, among them – illegal use of electricity, misappropriation of fuel, theft of military property, cases of soldier abuse.

OFFENSE - DUE TO IGNORANCE

Fight against street manners in the army should be implemented in all military echelons, but much more important is the participation of junior officers in this process.
According to sergeants’ majority, there is no need for military police to intervene in all matters within the military unit, since it creates atmosphere of fear, tension. This, of course, is only for those cases which do not contain an element of an offense or crime.
