National army
It is not a secret that Anti-aircraft defense (AAD) troops today are the most important and combat-ready sub-units of the national army. Yet during the Artsakh war and the 1st stage of the army building it was clear that we must have invulnerable AAD system.
On February 21st AoD Military Council’s meeting was held with the participation of command staff, staff and services departments’ heads, regiments commanders and their deputies. AoD’s personnel policy was discussed. The meeting was conducted by Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Minister, Army of Defense Commander, Lieutenant General Movses Hakobyan.
On February 21st all-army conference was held on the subject “Combat duty’s moral-psychological support issues and ways of its improvement”. NKR AoD Major General Andranik Makaryan presented the main report.
On February 23rd it is 20 years of the regiment which acts under the command of Lt.Colonel K.Sedrakyan.
On January 25, 1993 a separate motorized infantry regiment was formed, and on February 23rd – MI brigade which successfully participated in Artsakh war.
On September 18, 1995 the brigade got a Combat Banner.
(Русский) In the framework of the Defense Minister’s 2010 message “Commander – soldier’s elder friend” functions on the day of ensuring security during military service were conducted in the regiments. Methodological documents were sent to the commanders as a methodological support.
During Artsakh war the desire of the Armenian fighters was to have armoured vehicles in necessary quantity. The only source to acquire them was the enemy’s army. Armenians either confiscated vehicles or shot them, afterwards fixed them and used.
And now, 20 years after the war the armoured troops are the most powerful arms in the Army of Defense of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
