The regiment under the command of Colonel M.Mahsudyan realizes combat duty, defends the security of the borders of Armenia. However the command is aware that effective and secure combat duty basically is stipulated with full-fledged organization of operational training.
– How the situation on the border will be tensed we have no right to make mistakes during the training, – told Colonel Mahsudyan. – Our regiment is on the border, and the smallest omission would hamper the combat duty.

It is difficult to underestimate the significance of the regiment after Marshal H.Baghramyan in reinforcement of tank, motorized infantry combat regiments with qualified military specialists.
Regiment Commander Colonel G.Yenokyan told: – These spring days are very important in overcoming the requirements of the training program since after 20-25 days the regiment should be ready for exams. From 17 disciplines the most attention is given to preparation of tank and BMP specialists. Here the main responsibility lies on Deputy Commander Lieutenant colonel G.Tigranyan. The training technology is used every day, even at night.

Military units constantly recruit men with rich knowledge, high moral-psychological features and good physical abilities, who consciously devote themselves to the service, who don’t become tired of long exercises, are not fully satisfied with their accomplishments and keep their high level of fighting capacity by continually improving their skills. This refers to the military unit under the command of Colonel V. Grigoryan. According to the results of 2011, the battalion of Lieutenant-Colonel V. Vardanyan has been recognized the best in the military unit and has conquered the challenge banner, and we have witnessed the exercises of its certain subdivisions. In different parts of the training ground and marching square professional trainings were organized: parachute-flight trainings, physical readiness and improvement of combat skills…

The principal problem of the military unit under the command of Colonel M. Makhsudyan is the protection of borders. Day and night the servicemen involved in the duty are in the positions and control the peace of our people through their hard service.
As Colonel Makhsudyan noted, the enemy has become active with the spring, but our security is kept on a due level. There are no deficiencies from our side, just with the spring the visibility has risen for the enemy and the chances to act in the locality have increased.

The aviation military unit under the command of Colonel S. Sianosyan in 2011 was again recognized the best in the arm of service, and was awarded by the order of Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan with a flag of honour for the third time incessantly. The martial helicopter squadron Mi-24 is recognized the best in the military unit for already fourth time. The squadron staffs carry out several important tasks each year, improve their mastery during military tranings, put the tactical ideas and programs of the fighting arm officer staff to test.

On March 7 the RA Government on its session approved the RA Military Education Doctrine, the road map of the stages of the officer staff preparation and the program of events for the realization of the Military Education Doctrine. The RA Military Education Doctrine has been designed by the working group comprised of the representatives of the concerned departments of the Armed Forces General Staff and the RA Ministry of Defense, the RA National Academy of Sciences, RA Ministry of Science and Education, Yerevan State University, Yerevan State Medical University after M. Heratsy, as well as Armenian State Pedagogical University after Kh. Abovyan.

Choosing these words of Commander Vazgen Sargsyan as a slogan, the 3-rd anniversary of this statesman and military personality was celebrated in the Military Institute bearing his name due to the joint efforts of the students of State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan and the students of the Military Institute. Parents of the National Hero were present at this event. Through warlike and patriotic songs and performances, staged episodes the life of Vazgen Sargsyan was once more presented, his contribution to the victory of the fight for freedom in Artsakh and to the formation of national army was recalled and marked with importance.
