National army
On March 7, the Ministry of Defense gathered under its roof women soldiers, freedom-fighters, mothers of soldiers of the National army, wives, mothers and daughters of the freedom-fighters killed in the Artsakh war, women-members of non-governmental organizations, teachers and journalists on the occasion of celebration of Women’s Day. Those gathered firstly received congratulations in the name of women-soldiers.
On March 3rd a conference was held in the Yerevan State Medical University dedicated to the problems of the military medicine. National Assembly Chairman Samvel Nikoyan, Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan, high-ranking officers, doctors participated in the conference. During the conference special issues such as Armed Forces personal staff’s health protection, medical staff’s special preparation, military medicine perfection as a science were discussed.
In the last 5 years Armenian Armed Forces obtained more armaments than in previous 15 years. This was announced by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan in Ijevan city during the discussion of the Armenian Republican Party’s election program with intelligentsia representatives.
“In the last years we increased our fighting efficiency and with this forced the enemy to peace”, – told Tigran Sargsyan.
The regiment headed by Colonel A.Petrosyan is a reliable bridge which unites the rear with the front line, guarantees uninterrupted activity of units. All the activities – trainings etc. are realized by this unit. For fulfillment of plan works and commands the regiment was recognized as the best in its category in 2011 and the third time in 4 years is awarded with flag of honour.
On February 21st the Armenian peacekeepers’ recurrent shift returned to Armenia from Afghanistan. According to Peacekeepers Brigade Commander Major General Arthur Simonyan, all the 40 participants of the mission were awarded with NATO medals. The German Command, as in the previous years, is very satisfied with the Armenian servicemen’s service.
In early February in the RA AF Operational Training Department commanders’ trainings were conducted. The aim of the trainings was to develop the officers’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills in operational training planning, organization and process control.
