Recently on the order of Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan Reserve Major Samvel Artem Abrahamyan was rewarded with departmental medal “Garegin Nzhdeh” for his deed worthy of officer and his honesty.
On March 7th Samvel Abrahamyan near the RA Police building found an official license, permits, bank cards of a police officer and 220 thousand drams. On his personal initiative S.Abrahamyan found out that person’s contact numbers, contacted him and gave him all what he had found.
No doubt, reserve Major S.A.Abrahamyan is worthy of a high appreciation and his deed speaks about exemplary behavior of an Armenian officer and his high human qualities.
Moral-psychological condition of servicemen is very important if you want to have a combat-efficient army. Psychologist of the Tank regiment under the command of Colonel Zhirayr Poghosyan, Lieutenant Marat Hovanisyan is sure – it is essential for the psychologist to be aware of temper, psychological and personal peculiarities and social conditions of servicemen to be able to prevent or eliminate on the spot and on time the possible unwanted, negative events. The psychologist must work with the soldier from the first day of his arrival at the regiment.
The central communication hub was created in 2008. Though during the last 5 years the limits of regiment’s functions expanded, however the tasks have remained the same – through data center to provide command staff with telephone, radio relay, long-distance communication.
Once a month honored researchers and university teachers of the republic visit army regiments and give public lectures to servicemen. Among them there are historians, art specialists etc. Lectures are dedicated to the Armenian national-freedom movement, Armenian statehood, Armenian military art, Genocide history, diplomatic relations and Armenian culture.
Armenian community of Lebanon is one of the most traditional, most organized Armenian communities. Many centuries Armenians lived on the territory of Lebanon, however big wave of Armenians settled here during the First World War, when thousands of Armenians, fleeing from the Turkish massacre, found refuge in this Arab state.

Recently the book of Israeli scientist, historian, Sorbonne University Doctor, Professor of Israel Open University Yair Auron “Unacceptable indifference” had been presented to the Armenian book-readers. The author tries to find out the attitude of Jews towards the mass extermination of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire. In the book he tries to recreate on scientific basis the historical truth about tragic events of a century ago with the greatest accuracy.
