On March 30th Defense Minister S.Ohanyan rewarded soldier Armen Shakhikyan with medal «Vazgen Sargsyan» for his bravery during combat duty. He was impressed with Vazgen Sargsyan’s words: «Our destiny is in our hands».
Captain Smbat Vardanyan was also distinguished by heroism, who reacted quickly and saved the life of a pupil. Smbat was rewarded with medal «Vazgen Sargsyan».

It is already two months that Naira Melkonyan participates in the sergeants’ courses in the warrant officers’ school. After two months she will get the title of a sergeant and become contract-serviceman of the Armed Forces as a squad commander or platoon deputy commander. Naira is the only girl in the company.

In the training regiment of communication a new training program of signalers preparation functions. According to it the education duration has been increased for almost 1,5 months. As regiment Commander Lieutenant Colonel G.Movsisyan told, the aim of the change in the program is to prepare more qualified specialists, putting accent on practical trainings. The signalers should be able to secure uninterrupted connection.

On March 18th in the RA MoD administrative complex the annual operative meeting was held with RA armed forces authorities and high-ranking officers.
During the meeting lectures were given by Prime Minister T.Sargsyan, Defense Minister S.Ohanyan, National Security Council Secretary A.Baghdasaryan, Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandyan, AF GS Head General-Colonel Yu.Khachaturov, 1st deputy Defense Minister D.Tonoyan.

It is not a secret that Anti-aircraft defense (AAD) troops today are the most important and combat-ready sub-units of the national army. Yet during the Artsakh war and the 1st stage of the army building it was clear that we must have invulnerable AAD system.

February 25th is the birthday of the distinguished son of the Armenian nation, Commander Andranik Ozanyan. There are people, there are heroes who are out of time, since they belong to every time. They come out of people, become part of it, regardless of political, public situation. A.Ozanyan has been canonizedby the people.

On February 21st AoD Military Council’s meeting was held with the participation of command staff, staff and services departments’ heads, regiments commanders and their deputies. AoD’s personnel policy was discussed. The meeting was conducted by Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Minister, Army of Defense Commander, Lieutenant General Movses Hakobyan.
