More than a decade we experience the same great joy – we have established higher military educational institutions. In various command sections thousands of officers – those institutions graduates, equally share responsibilities of RA AF authorities: motorized infantry, artillerists, tankmen, agents. In the army they hold almost all the commanding posts.
On July 27 in one of the firing grounds of the training centre after Marshal Baghramyan the main, firing stage of tactical training with combat firing of the regiment after V.Sargsyan was held.
Training subject: “Regiment’s implementation into high level operational readiness. Transition into defense in the conditions of absence of direct contact with enemy. Defense fight’s conduct, stopping of enemy’s attack and enemy’s full extermination with counterattack and front line’s restoration”.
One month has been left till the trainings of “Cooperation-2012” of OCSA Collective Forces of Quick Reaction which will be held this year in our country in the training centre after Marshal Baghramyan.
To prepare duly to such an important event for our national army from last year vast constructing work is being done. The central observing tower has been fully renovated, modern conditions have been created for specialists, guests, journalists, command point has been enlarged.
My youngest son Arman was 13 in 1992. 10 days I was not at home, I drove soldiers to Hadrut. When I returned, my friends said: “Your Arman ran away, went to Krasnoselsk. Go after him, he is very young”.
Months passed, a year, too, but no news from him.
Soon it will be 20 years. My mother died with the name “Arman” on her lips. My wife also didn’t endure. Last time, being infirm, she asked: “Any news from Arman?” I shook my head…
Two years is not a long time in person’s life, however it is a whole epoch for a soldier. His life is divided into two parts – before army or after army. Really, two years is not a long time for a person, and 20 years – for armed forces. But when I mentally go back and try to remember, compare what I have seen from the conscription till discharge, progress of our armed forces becomes evident for me.
More than 15 years ago when our state was just rising, I was always thinking – “Let my sufferings create secure future for my only son”.
That time I was sure that my country will really become the most developed in the region. And today, after 20 years, only now I understand what a romantic was I and didn’t have any imagination about the complicated route of state formation.
Years pass quickly, and today my son serves in the victorious Armenian army which will become more powerful.
