Already it is so many years all our nation celebrate the Day of Sardarapat heroic battle. I consider this day as one of the most important national and state holidays, – says Rafael Mesropyan, military teacher of “Mkhitar Sebastatsy” educational complex, former liberation-warrior.
When we were studying the history of Sardarapat battle, we decided to go and respect the memory of perished heroes who put the basis of our independence in the early 20th century.

When Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan visited the eastern regiment, he met also with the people and authorities of the community. Being the community head, I raised a few issues.
Our village Vahan is a bordering frontier village and has a heroic biography. It resisted heroically during the Artsakh war. However now our main task is to leave our youth in the village, don’t hamper our eastern borders of young and strong hands.

On the way to Karvachar district centre it is written with big letters: “Karvachar – Armenian Fort”. And that’s right! The main thing is that our servicemen think the same. The territory which is under their responsibility they consider as a real fort which if necessary can give shelter to peaceful people and break attacking enemy’s spin.

Every year on October 19, the Day of Rocket-Artillery Troops is being solemnly celebrated. Since it is celebrated almost in the end of the education year, that’s why it is a very good time to analyze the work done during the education process, to assess achievements and blunders.

Press-secretary of the minister – it is first of all minister’s image-maker. He must follow the minister as his shadow and remain in the shadow. I tried to give the media many-sided, correct and objective information possibly. I am against concealment of accidents since the society, we want it or not, very quickly come to know about murders and violence in the troops. And if we conceal or the official media don’t talk about them, the feeling of fear sharpens and it creates rich soil for any kinds of rumors.

In the framework of strategic command-staff trainings “Reaction-2013” which are being held according to the RA AF development plan, RA president, NSC Chairman Serje Sargsyan convened NSC meeting. During it conditional military- political situation around Armenia and high-ranking officials’ actions during taking such decisions were discussed. NSC members presented their suggestions to the President on how to neutralize threats and prepare the state for defense.

During the Soviet years the chemical industry of Azerbaijan was considered as well developed, and there were all prerequisites that our enemy could create and use mass destruction weapon (WMD). That’s why RA AF chemical service was formed which was re-formed into a chemical troops unit on October 1, 1992 headed by Lt. Colonel M.Hayrapetyan. After the creation of radiation, chemical and biological defense regiments and sub-units, in March 1997 on the order of the Defense Minister the RChBD unit was transformed into a department.
