On November 3rd in the memorial complex «Sardarapat» a function was held dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Sardarapat battle’s Commander, Lieutenant General Movses Silikyan.
The student groups of Military Institute after V.Sargsyan and Military Aviation Institute after Marshal Khanperyants and State universities of Yerevan and Artsakh participated in the intellectual game conducted on the initiative of RA MoD Information & PR Department.

Comparing with the previous years the lowest death rate was in 2011, and this year it has gone down comparing with 2011. The deaths because of the enemy have significantly diminished. Suicide cases have increased for two. Last year 3 cases of deliberate murder were registered, this year – 1, last year there were 2 cases of death because of illness, this year – 1, and there is 1 accident.

20 years ago, on November 5, 1992 during the fight for one of the villages of Lachin Karen Manvelyan perished.
This year on November 5th a memory function was held in RA MoD military museum «Mother Armenia» dedicated to the 20th death anniversary and 45th birth anniversary of Karen Manvelyan. The function was titled – «If you want your people and Homeland live, have a will to die for them». Karen’s relatives, friends, teachers, guests were present on the function.

Andranik Hayrapetyan was born in Yerevan in 1968. In 1988 he returned from the Soviet army, and in 1990 he was already a member of one of the volunteer’s detachments «Arabkir». In 1991 he was sent to Shahumyan to carry weapons to the border.
Always the most responsible task was entrusted to Andranik. They knew that only he can fulfill it. However this time the unexpected bullet found Andranik. He was not yet 24…

On October 27 in the MoD administrative complex the regular meeting of the Ministry’s board was conducted. The achievements in the sphere of arms and military technology as well as the future plans were discussed. Prior to the meeting, on October 26 in the MoD administrative complex an exhibition of RA military-industrial establishment production opened.

On October 26, in the Military Police (MP) conference hall a meeting was conducted on the results of work done during 9 months of 2012. Deputy Defense Minister A.Nazaryan, Deputy Minister of Sports & Youth Issues Kh.Aseryan, MP departments’ heads and staff participated in the meeting.
Summarizing the meeting’s results Defense Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of the joint work with regiments command, help and support to them which would raise the efficiency of operational tasks implementation.

On 24-25 October more than 20 media representatives visited one of the eastern border regiments on the initiative and direct assistance of the Defense Ministry.
