Motorised infantry regiment under the command of Lt. Colonel G.Tevosyan was recognized as the best according to the results of operational readiness for 2011 training year and was awarded with challenge flag of honour.
On May 25 the Last Bell Day was celebrated in the republic. It was celebrated also in RA MOD Military-Sports College after Monteh Melkonyan. On the solemn ceremony of the graduates Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, high-ranking officers, guests, parents were present.
On May 24, 14 Yezidi-Karabakh war participants were awarded with “20-th anniversary of Armenian Army” Jubilee medals by the RA Ministry of Defense.
According to Chairman of the Yezidis Union Aziz Tamoyan, “Yezidis are age-old friends of the Armenian nation. It was our duty to participate in the movement in the name of our country, our friendship, which has deep roots. Our war hasn’t finished yet. If needed, we’ll again fight for Artsakh”.
On the occasion of the Republic Day sportsman, serviceman Manvel Avoyan set up two records in two exercises at once – “flag” and “pushing from floor in a vertical position”. M.Avoyan’s these two records were registered in “The Heroes’ Book”.
On May 22 the spring conscription started in our country. 18-years old Samvel Danielyan, resident of Tatoul village of Talin district (Aragatsoten marz), student of Law Faculty, Hrazdan State Humanitarian University also joined the army.
NKR Minister of Defense, AD Commander, Lieutenant General Movses Hakobyan told: “When planning the next training year, AD first of all considers enemy’s probable actions character which includes not only defense actions planning but also their engineering support planning, first line and defensive belt equipment, acquisition of material-technical means and most important – staff’s high level training.

– At first our regiment was a small subunit equipped with very simple AAD (ant-aircraft defense) means, subsequently it became a battery. As anti-aircraft-rocket regiment it was formed in August, 1992. Since 1992 they participated in military operations in the directions of Askeran, Martakert, Martouni, Hadrut and Kashatagh and defended the capital Stepanakert and other settlements from enemy’s air attacks. During that time enemy’s 10 air means were demolished. In January 2007 the regiment was awarded with 2nd level order “Battle Cross”.
