Fatal outcome incidents in the national army decreased for 33,3% in 2011 compared to 2010. In figures it is 36 incidents in 2011 vs 54 in 2010. RA Judge Advocate Gevorg Kostanyan informed about this during the joint press-conference with Major General Armen Haroutyunyan, Head of RA MOD Investigating Service.

On January 24th a festive concert was held at the Military Institute after Vazgen Sargsyan on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the national army. Famous Armenian variety performers performed in front of the students and guests of honour executing military-patriotic songs and dances.
In the function’s second part a documentary film about the formation of the national army was screened prepared by the RA MOD Information and PR Department.

On January 16th NKR Defense Minister, Defense Army Commander, Lieutenant General Movses Hakobyan received OSCE Chairman’s Personal Representative Anjey Kasprjik. During the meeting the operative situation on the Armenian-Azeri contact zone and perspectives of further cooperation were discussed.

Recently in the regiment headed by Colonel A.Haroutyounov trainings on «Actions during combat alert» were conducted. Personal staff with combat technology came out into the landing zone. In a filed conditions medical station, rear management point and commander’s point were expanded.

Recently in the 1st army corps the totals of 2011 educational year on operational training, discipline and troops service were summed up. The unit’s commander Major General K.Aghajanyan mentioned the shortcomings of the personal staff in the abovementioned spheres and expressed his gratitude to the servicemen with the best showings. They were encouraged with valuable gifts and monetary awards.

On January 16th with the RA Defense Ministry support and on the initiative of the Yerevan State University’s «Young YSU-its Union» series of functions started dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Armenian Army. The slogan of the functions is: «We are the Army!»

Recently in the Armavir border unit after Anastas Mikoyan (commander – Colonel A.E.Zlobin) of Russian Federation border troops a swear in ceremony was conducted. That day more than 100 young men gave oath to serve the Homeland selflessly, obey the laws, surely implement commanders’ commands, keep the military secrets.
