At the Brussels forum devoted to the conflicts in South Caucasus (See “Hay Zinvor ” # 7 , page 15),Talysh political figures raised the question of full independence of Talyshstan, considering that the requirement of autonomy within the Republic of Azerbaijan is no longer relevant… Discussion organized by the European Parliament reiterated that Talysh movement can play the role of a “locomotive” for other indigenous peoples living in Azerbaijan.

Army is the main achievement of our independent statehood. Honour and praise to those regiments where our soldiers get education, combat spirit, where under the command of servicemen-patriots our army’s tomorrow is being built.

The birth of the Armenian army – is the fruit of general will, force, devotion, patriotism of our nation. The Armenian army became the adorable son of each Armenian, the whole nation. Flesh and blood to the Armenian army were given by art worker and worker, scientist and peasant, soldier and commander. That’s why creation and making of the army – it is a fete day not only for the servicemen.

The motorized infantry regiment under the command of Colonel H.Tevosyan three times in a row was recognized the best in the Army of Defense in 2013 and was awarded with Banner of Honor.

Lt.Colonel Samvel Minasyan has been recently appointed as commander of one of the North-East regiments. Under the former Commander – Colonel G.Amirkhanyan – this regiment last year took second place among the regiments conducting combat duty. So they put an assignment in front of themselves – to become the best!

Street manners penetrate the regiment not only with the recruits but also with contract-servicemen. The situation exacerbated by low educational level of the recruits. All the commanders know preventive means very well: individual talks, ideology-educational work, organization of cultural and recreational activities, but these should be on every-day, every-hour basis.

As the officers and soldiers, and religious leaders also get appointed in the regiments through lottery. A year and 7 months ago Volodya deacon Najaryan started to serve in the regiment named “Deers”.
