In the most critical moment of the Artsakh war Davit Baghdasaryan, like thousand of his peers, instead of school went to the trenches. After the cease-fire, process of forming the army received a new impetus. To fill the vacancies of officers, experienced Lieutenant General Kristapor Ivanyan chose the shortest and most effective way, organizing courses for officers who had combat experience and knowledge. Having completed successfully “School of Ivanyan”, they become valuable specialists because Ivanyan didn’t present anybody to get officer rank just for nothing.

Probably not many people know that in 2014 was the 100th anniversary of Hero of the Soviet Union Hounan Avetisyan. It would be natural if the press and cultural advocacy organizations have used this date to remember once again our hero compatriot, glorify our people who give birth to heroes and give lessons of courage and patriotism to the younger generation.

With the assistance of philanthropists from the Diaspora, RA armed forces received 8 German shepherds to help protecting the safety of the north-eastern parts of the country. At our borders we already have 10 purebred shepherds – border guards.
