These days Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov has sent a protest-note to the UN General Secretary. There he informs that Armenia sets up in Artsakh new settlements, renovates airport and infrastructure, changes geographical names, intends to build 150 houses in Kubatly region, as well as road Vardenis-Karvachar. Besides Armenia populates Artsakh with Syrian Armenians: in Kashatagh region have been already settled 24 families, in Zangelan – 7, Karvachar – 27.

It is about Hovanisyan brothers – Samson, Levon and Taron from village Zaritap of Vayots Dzor region.
When Samson did M.A. in Yerevan State University History Department and was to be recruited, and Levon graduated from Yerevan Polytechnical University Cybernetics Department and was to be recruited too, Taron, 2nd year student of Oriental Studies Department of YSU decided to serve in the army voluntarily simultaneously with his brothers.

International military cooperation is one of the most important instruments of defense policy. On multisided and two-side surfaces of this sphere the Defense Ministry pursuits two basic aims. First aim – development of defense system introducing leading international experience, second – create international guarantees to ensure security of Armenia.

«Hay Zinvor» is the biographer of the national army, the most true documentalist on the difficult path of army construction. The newspaper was not only a chronologist for the army but also a participant, always in the thick of events, always near the soldier and officer, near soldier’s parents. «Hay Zinvor» was on the front-line with 18-year old Armenian soldier, «Hay Zinvor» thought of army construction problems with officer, «Hay Zinvor» charted future’s ambitious projects with general. «Hay Zinvor» is the dialogue of the army with people which continues already 20 years. Delegation headed by Dr.Alberto Bini, Head of Partnership & Cooperation Division, Department of Political Issues and Security Policy of NATO was in Armenia from 7-9 August. NATO representatives were accompanied by NATO liaison officer in South Caucasus William Lahyu.

On August 9 Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan visited North-Eastern bordering zone. He was in combat control points situated on Armenian-Azeri border line, got acquainted with servicemen’s preparation and moral-psychological situation who conduct combat duty.

Colonel Vahram Grigoryan is one of the skillful commanders of the army. He was the commander of the regiment implementing border defense. Since April he has been appointed as Commander of OCST CORF’s Armenian unit. This unit last year under the command of Colonel A.Smbatyan took part in CORF joint exercises and showed high results.
