22nd September in the regiment headed by Colonel S.Khachatryan a solemn function was held dedicated to the Signal Corps Day. The function started with blessings by RA AF spiritual head Vrtanes Archbishop Abrahamyan. Afterwards Signal Department Head, Signal Corps Head Colonel K Mouradyan gave a speech.
Some servicemen were awarded. In the end of the function the people present put flowers on the memorial of Major General Arthur Papazyan who had a big contribution in the development of the Signal Corps.

Since 2000 September 7th is observed in the RA AF as Engineering Troops Day because that day owing to the brilliant work of engineering sub-units in the Lachin corridor enemy’s advancement was prevented.

The main task of our engineering troops is to enhance troops’ viability and realize appropriate works to make military installations. Today premises from stone and field sheltered canteens have been constructed and furnished in the positions. We have also equipped observing points and fire points. Equipped with engineering equipment control points are the best means for struggle with enemy’s subversive groups.

Azerbaijan SSR’s and present Azerbaijan Republic’s policy of forced “Turkisation” and “Azerbaijanisation” continues till now. Using primitive “demographic arithmetic” this country tries “to make as Turks” Turkic-speaking Iranian people who live in the north of Iran exactly the same way as it was “making as Turks” living in that country 93 ethnicities..

Many years the training brigade prepares commanders of units for our armed forces.
– Recently efficiency of the training process significantly has been increased, – tells Deputy Commander of one of the motorized infantry battalions Major M.Kosyan. That is caused with two factors. First, our training regiment admits soldiers from other regiments and prepares them as unit commanders. Now unit commanders of the main staff have been substituted with contract-sergeants.

In the RA MOD general firing ground subunits of CSTO Collective Forces of Rapid Reaction are awaited which will participate in the military trainings “Cooperation-2012”. The best traditions of the Armenian hospitality have been observed also in the sphere of military cooperation: comfortable conditions are arranged for the participants in the fields not only for operational trainings but also for everyday life.

On August 14 Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan mentioned that in geopolitical meaning “vertical position” is successful for Armenia, i.e. cooperation with Russian Federation, Georgia, Iran, meanwhile in “horizontal direction” there are problems between Armenia-Turkey and Armenia-Azerbaijan.

On August 14 during the meeting with the participants of the camp “Bazeh” RA Defense Minister S.Ohanyan said that “it is the time for the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic to participate in NK problem’s settlement negotiations as a party of negotiations… The main thing is that we have won de-facto, and we should do everything that NKR be recognized de-jure”.
