On the New Year eve – December, 31st in the regiment headed by Colonel A. Melikyan a religious ceremony “matagh” – sacrifice of sheep was conducted. Before the ceremony regiment’s pastor deacon Michael Hakobyan explained the servicemen its meaning which is – charity, love and gratitude to the God.

According to candidate of psychological science, associate professor, Colonel Vazgen Margaryan the information-psychological influence structures of Azerbaijan for a long time seek to present Armenia in the role of an aggressor in the Armenian-Azeri conflict to reach its aims with the help of the international community. However this is a manipulation since there is no gain for the international community from the aims of Azerbaijan.

Recently in the RA MOD Military Institute after Vazgen Sargsyan a function was organized dedicated to RA National Hero Movses Gorgisyan. Hero’s widow Ruzanna Gorgisyan and his comrades-in-arms addressed the students and teachers. Pupils from some Yerevan schools, supported by the Institute, also participated in the function.

Famous Armenian composer promised to write a march for the RA MOD Military Institute after Vazgen Sargsyan. Tigran Mansouryan gave this promise recently during his meeting with the Institute’s students and teachers.
During his meeting the composer shared his thoughts about the role of the army in the life of people and state and mentioned the progress reached by the army after its creation.

Recently in one of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s Army of Defense regiments National Hero Monteh Melkonyan’s birthday was celebrated in a grand manner. During the Artsakh national-liberation war against Azeri occupants one of the divisions was fighting under the command of Monteh. During the function the Hero’s photos as well as a documentary film about him were shown. Regiment’s commander Colonel Sahakyan also addressed the staff and expressed his gratitude to the team for the well-done work.

As for December 9th, the Armavir Military Registration Office has fulfilled the conscription plan for 70%. This was told by Armavir military commander Colonel Gagik Karapetyan to the “Hay Zinvor” correspondent. He expressed his assurance that the plan would be fulfilled and even overfulfilled. “Why you are so sure, you know that this is the generation of 1993 war year?”, – asked the correspondent.

On December 7th, the day of 55th anniversary of nurse Karineh Gevorgyan, participant of Artsakh liberation war against Azeri occupants, knight of 2nd level Battle Cross (posthumously), the students of Military-Medical Faculty, Yerevan State Medical University after M.Heratsi, Karineh’s comrades-in-arms, her family members visited her grave in Yerablour Pantheon (Three Hills) and put flowers on it grave.
