These days the Basic Military Training Class of the School No.77 after Rouben Miroyan in Yerevan was named after the warriors-volunteers detachment “Aramo”, participants of Artsakh liberation war.
In this connection a solemn function was organized in participation with “Aramo” Detachment’s legendary commander Colonel Aram Torgomyan (Aramo), his comreades-in-arms, servicemen, NGO representatives, pupils with their parents and teachers.

On October 4, 2011 in Echmiadzin (Armavir Dustrict, Republic of Armenia) one more residential building for the Military Personnel was put in commission. 16 families got apartments. Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan himself handed over the apartment-keys to the owners. He mentioned that the social and living problems of the personnel, especially the housing issue are always in the centre of attention of RA President Serge Sargsyan and are priority in the Government’s activities.

On September 29, 2011 in the Military Aviation Institute after Marshal Armenak Khanperyants of MOD RA in Yerevan a function was organized dedicated to the 50th anniversary of National Hero of the Republic of Armenia Movses Gorgisyan. Hero’s widow, Rouzan Gorgisyan, his friends and classmates, MAI students and teachers participated in the function. Film “Movses” (director: Samvel Tadevosyan, Movses’s classmate, film text read by Khoren Abrahamyan, People’s Artist of Armenia) was screened.

For RA Justice Colonel Vazgen Arakelyan the 21st of September, Independence Day, was а double festival. In Anapa (Russian Federation) he participated in a solemn ceremony dedicated to the heroes-liberators of that city. Among them was his grandfather, Hero of the Soviet Union Souren Arakelyan, who 68 years ago, on September 21, 1943 covered with his chest enemy’s machinegun’s tube at Kurbatskaya settlement.

On September 4-24, 15 signalers from RA Armed Forces took part in annual Games of Communication and Information Technologies “Cooperative Effort-2011”, organized by the USA European command in American military base Gravenver in South-East Germany.
In 2002-2003 Armenia participated in these games as an observer, and from 2004 – as a full participant. “Participated 1500 militarymen from 40 countries of the world.

On September 24, issues related to the educational process at Military-Educational Institutes of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia and foreign countries were discussed at the meeting of the Ministry Board. 1st Deputy Minister David Tonoyan, 1st Deputy Head of Staff of AF RA general-lieutenant Enrico Apriamov, Head of Human resources and Military Education Department of MOD RA Meher Shirinyan, heads of military institutes, high-ranking militarymen gave speeches.

On September 25, a solemn ceremony in the memory of Armenian officer Gourgen Margaryan was held in the Pantheon of soldiers-liberators “Yerabloor” (Three Hills). On February 19, 2004 in Budapest an Azeri officer killed him with an axe while he was sleeping. They were participating in English language courses organized by NATO in the framework the program “Cooperation for Peace”.
