THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR IN LETTERS

Recently I visited the village of Khachen-Daget of Tetritskaro district in Georgia, where I spent my childhood. On my return, in the neighboring village Samshvildo I met my old friend, Ashot Kamalyan, who was once a rural teacher. He invited me to his home, and when we parted, handed me an old folder and said: “Please take, here are a few letters of soldiers-villagers who went to the front and died. These letters my parents and relatives have kept, and then gave me. And now I give them to you, and I ask – take them to Yerevan and read. If you find something interesting, publish in any newspaper. This way you do holy work to the memory of our fallen soldiers.”

THE FULL SUPPLY

Today, the performing combat duty personnel, we have provided with mobile field baths on the basis of ZIL-131. Now the soldiers carrying out combat duty can bathe once a week. This I believe notable progress since 23 years alerting soldiers had been deprived of such possibilities.

PEACEKEEPING MISSION – TO CONSTRUCTION OF THE ARMY

Today in the world in 16 peacekeeping missions there are more than 107 thousand peacekeepers from 122 countries.
Armenian peacekeepers participated in 4 missions: since 2004 – in Kosovo, since 2005 – in Iraq, since 2010 – in Afghanistan, since November, 2014 – in Lebanon. Currently in Afghanistan there are 130 Armenian soldiers, in Iraq – 35, in Lebanon – 32.

VICTORY OR COMPENSATION!

History shows that Armenians fought back Gallipoli army, and this glorious victory was important not only for us, the Armenians, but for halting the advance of the Turks, contributing to the collapse of their madcap plans. And we must celebrate with great fanfare all the victorious battles that had momentous importance for the Armenian people. We need to raise the spirit of the nation, especially the youth. FROM SARDARAPAT TO ARTSAKH

The ancestors of warrior-liberator, Yezid by nationality Asya Khatoyan emigrated to Armenia from Bolsen in Osmanian Turkey. In 1918-1920 they participated in the Battle of Sardarapat. She is happy with her ancestors, the heroes, who in the name of freedom, in the name of the land took up arms and fought heroically.

RULES OF ETHICS IN THE ARMED FORCES: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

In a society in parallel with social norms, there are also “unwritten laws”. These rules, rooted for centuries, which sometimes help, but sometimes interfere with the state in the construction of the legislative field.
The most viable social norm can be considered a “code of honor”. People, especially young men, are ready to enter into a serious conflict with each other, even to use physical violence if someone insults his dignity or his relatives’. And they are trying to resolve this issue by “unwritten laws” that usually ends with a gross violation of human rights, and sometimes – a tragedy.
