In 2012 the lethal outcome cases sharply decreased, informed Gevorg Kostanyan, Deputy General Prosecutor, Judge Advocate during his meeting with journalists on January 17. He mentioned that in 2012 29 crimes with lethal outcome were registered, 9 of them – from enemy’s bullet.

On November 15th 33 officers of one of the Kotayk district’s regiments celebrated house-warming. Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan himself handed over the keys of 1-, 2- and 3-room apartments to them.

On August 4, in Abovyan city a solemn ceremony of the residential building opening was held which was meant for 61 Armed Forces servicemen. Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, high-ranking servicemen, AF officers, territorial management bodies representatives were present.

On March 5 Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan accompanied by Seyran Ohanyan, Minister of Defense, met the servicemen of one of the military units in Yerevan, presenting the educational program implemented in the Armed Forces. It is aimed at development of professional skills and knowledge of demobilized soldiers in certain educational subjects and their preparation for the admission to the RA higher educational institutions, preliminary and middle professional educational institutions.

On February 24th in the RA National Assembly Defence, National Security and Home Affairs Permanent Commission headed by H.Karapetyan the project law on making amendments in the RA Law “On Military Service” was discussed. The aim of the law is to expand the contract sergeants system in the RA AF, develop military education system, ensure transparency in designation and removal process of servicemen, elucidate promotion possibilities, strengthen the discipline.

At the results of two quarters of 2011, quantity of incidents with fatal outcome in the Armenian army comparing with the same period of the previous year reduced twice and murders – four times, informed RA Military Prosecutor Gevorg Kostanyan in his talk with “Hay Zinvor” correspondent. “This year crime detection rate in the army reaches almost 100%, – told the Prosecutor. – Except some picking incidents all the crimes are solved. There are no unsolved heavy crimes”.
