Banants was an Armenian settlement in the historical region of Gardmanq. This story tells about the barbaric elimination of the eagle-monument which was constructed in the memory of 600 perished Banants –inhabitants during the Great patriotic war. It happened during the Soviet period, on the order of Baku and with the tacit support of the Kremlin.
In 1941-1945 1200 young men from Banants went to war, and 600 from them perished. Banants people decided to perpetuate their memory, and in 1966 invited eminent architect Rafael Israelyan.
In the final stage 3 rounds and one team event were held. In the first round, our team took second place among 35 teams. In the second round it was asked to prepare an information release or operational report in English based on the results of the observation point in the duty. Here the Armenian students took fourth place, and in “conditional” standings of CIS countries – second place.
Great and rich culture is the guarantee of a firm statehood, pledge of safety and permanence of the nation. And such kind of nation had to escape from the danger of losing its own uniqueness, though the enemy wanted to eliminate our spiritual values – prohibiting and threatening, limiting and humiliating, spreading own mediocre works. The Armenians preserved their 5000-year-old unique culture, preserved it in their blood, soul.
Recently in the Palace of Culture of Zelenograd administrative district of Moscow the 16th International contest-festival “Vivat, Victory!” was held, dedicated to the 69th anniversary of the Victory. 18 ensembles, 32 soloists and 14 authors-performers took part in it.
Many centuries Armenian nation and the Armenian church have fought to protect our unique spiritual and cultural heritage. We respected also spiritual and cultural uniqueness of the neighboring nations.
However there are sects which pose a danger. There are also some anti-religious organizations, social groups which pose a danger. Emo, Gots, satanists, anti-christs belong to those organizations. Majority of them pose a danger when their representatives serve in the army, since for them life is not worth. The culmination of their ideology is suicide.

Recently the book of Israeli scientist, historian, Sorbonne University Doctor, Professor of Israel Open University Yair Auron “Unacceptable indifference” had been presented to the Armenian book-readers. The author tries to find out the attitude of Jews towards the mass extermination of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire. In the book he tries to recreate on scientific basis the historical truth about tragic events of a century ago with the greatest accuracy.
